disk clearing: to remove superfluous files

After Windows have been installed and on the personal wishes have been adjusted, it becomes weed time the installation on and wind up. Clearring superfluous files, followed by the defragmenteren of the hard disk, promotes the system performances considerably (because clogging of the hard disk is in many situations a factor slowing down). Each smattering speed profit that with disk clearing and - defragmentatie can be gained have been nicely taken along, but expect no wonders…
Windows XP contain standard the function disk clearing, contactably by means of the system work set of the office accessories in the start menu. Open disk clearing and selects C: - disk, molar all components on the first tab (with exception of Office Setup-bestanden, these can come later still of just) and late with busy on OKAY the files to remove.

The contents of these folders can be removed handmatig. It is for that, however, necessary that the protected control system files hid and files visible have been made (in the Windows patrol by means of extra, folder options, tab reproduction, option files hid and folders reflect). With the tools IE privacy keeper and Active@ era serum can be removed such files moreover also in a simple manner. With IE privacy keeper are the moreover possible cookies (selectively) exclude so that some institutions necessary for desired Internet sites preserve the cookies with institutions of regularly visited Internet sites (for example which for the internetbankieren) can remain.
TIP: By means of the properties of a folder how much space is retrieve there up to can be freed. By comparing the available space of the concerning disk with the original free space, afterwards how much space can be stipulated there have been effectively freed.
For saving space also the following files and folders can be removed:
C:\HIBERFIL.SYS (hid, just as large as the RAM)
The sleep cog makes to an impression of the RAM, so that the PC. can the wire take up at awakeing from the sleep cog right. The sleep cog is frequently used at laptops to save the accumulator thereby. The sleep cog is not used, then for that the required file can be removed just as well (if that had not yet happened). C:\System volume Information (hid)
This folder is necessary for the system convalescence function of Windows XP. By eliminating the system guard of a certain disk the more earlier made convalescence points (necessarily for the system convalescence function) are removed, and with that the associated folder are emptied. C:\PAGEFILE.SYS (hid)
The pagefile (the `virtual geheugen') are used as soon as the fast RAM is no longer sufficient. In that case data are given someone a bad press temporarily to the file PAGEFILE.SYS on the hard disk. Has the computer much RAM (512 Mb or more) and turns there no programme with large geheugengebruik, then the virtual memory can possibly be eliminated. C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
This folder contains information on software which is regularly started up. Each time that starts up XP, these programme in the memory is charged already partially, as a result of which starts up them more rapidly. After course of time this folder touches however polluted and that goes at the cost of the system performances. It is judicious this empty folder one-off. It can be that at the first time open programme what slower optarten. The necessary prefetch files are automatically produced.
C:\Windows\ $NtUninstall ...... files (hid)
Oftewel the required files Windows-update earlier carried out for reversing. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\
